Apple has more money than ever before. Every year, a bunch of people line up for the latest iPhone on launch day.
We almost expect it to happen. It’s just a matter of when.
When was the last time Apple launched an unexpected product?
For me, it was probably the iPad. That was 2010, a whole 12 years ago.
And what have we received throughout these 12 years? Countless iterations of the iPhone, iPad, and Macbook. If you watch reviews on YouTube, you’ll probably also start to notice that the perspective toward Apple has changed.
Why I call the iPad unexpected is because it’s the last product that created genuine real-life applications. What does that mean?
Have you noticed how many businesses use iPads as a means to improve user experience?
Your local Japanese restaurant has one at every table to take orders, your local bank branch has one for self-service. Heck, even my grandma has one.
How did it get so widespread? Because Apple was selling something to you before you had any idea what you could use it for.
That’s them creating a whole new market segment. And don’t tell me “Oh, they didn’t invent tablets, some guy had done the same thing 10 years ago and they just copied it.”
